Ahh, the Big Apple. I think most Chicagoans have complicated feelings about New York City. Whether you think we have a chip on our shoulder or valid criticism leveled towards the city that seems to constantly overshadow us, there's no doubt that it's a beautiful place to visit.

In June of 2016, I was able to sneak a couple days in New York in before continuing on to New Jersey for my good friend's wedding. Since my boyfriend had never been to NYC before, we decided to make it a true tourists' trip. We took in all the typical sights, but it never once felt boring or cheesy. While I can rant your ear off about why Chicago is a superior city to live in (cost of living, alleys for garbage, nicer people, etc.), there is no doubt that New York City is one of the most fascinating, exciting places to visit in the world.
